If the essay prompt is "passion," is it trite to write about Tokio Hotel? Will I come off like some brainless teeniebopper who no one in their right mind would let into their college? God, I hope not. Because TH is pretty much my main squeeze right now, and there is no way in hell I can write about getting booted out of two host families in Italy. This isn't going to be some third season of the O.C. Marissa Cooper freakin' out 'cause she shot some guy and writin' her college essays and getting into Berkeley. No way no how. Especially because she ended up dead
This is the prompt:
The 18th Century French philosopher Denis Diderot said, “Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things.” Describe one of your passions and discuss its contribution to your personal growth.
My parents will hate it because they think that I'm wasting my time on TH and it's time to get serious or get out.
I'll post the essay when it's a little closer to done.
And now I'm off to bed! Merry Christmas, darlings!!
xoxo,
Charlotte
P.S. I added a "P.P.S." to the letter that I'm leaving out for Santa (yes, I am 18. You gotta believe!) that asks to make sure that Bill & Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schäfer, and Georg Listing have good Christmases. I am such a sap.
Love you guys! xC
On another note, my best friend is completely rad and I love my sunglasses.
I'm thinking about putting this interview in my bookmarks, just so I can read it & be happy as often as possible.
Goodnight!

Charlotte
Yes, that is my tough face.
On Friday I baked chocolate chip cookies and then
I suppose it is good that I slept, because I had to arise fairly early (6-ish) on Saturday morning to shower, dress, put my cookies in my lunchbox, gather my number 2 pencils, and vamoose from mi casa to go to Hanna's, and then...the SAT. Which was at school.
I shan't go into great deal when describing the testing experience, suffice to say that I ran out of time two words ("ground up," as in "from the ground up," not "the man was chopped into pieces and then ground up") before I finished my essay, and that I did, I reckon, OK on the math and English sections, stumped only by a few algebra/geometry problems and a couple of words for which I could not conjure meanings. Scores come in a few weeks hence, and we shall see the truth then.
Once done with the test I was not much in the mood to do much else, so, after picking up Kiss Me Like a Stranger, Gene Wilder's memoir, I headed home to sit on the window seat, eat veggie dogs, and read it. Not the best book ever written, and I had heard a lot of the stories before (from listening to G.W. interviews on NPR) but it was still enjoyable! I recommend it for Gene Wilder fans (how can you not be one?), and maybe even fans of Mel Brooks, because there are some fun Mel B (sounds like the Spice Girl, don't it?) stories in there as well.
The lovely power went out while I was reading, so instead of taking a shower (I needed to shampoo without conditioner for the hair dyeage and no power = no hairdryer) I read Canadian Living, which, incidentally, is one of the best magazines I've ever encountered. There is a recipe for Halloween cupcakes in there that I am just dying to try, but first I must procure marzipan!
The power eventually returned, I hopped in the shower and scrubbed as much of the accursed color out, then we went to the local "brews and blues" roadhouse for dinner. I had a kid's hamburger, because after my v-dogs, wheaties, and 8 cookie breakfast I could not even dream of handling anything bigger! Then it was back home (at this point it was almost 7pm) and the dye-a-thon began!!
Seriously, my mom has become super-talented at dyeing my hair after all these times! It's neat, and makes my life easier, and my arms less tired. I was a tad worried that we would run out of dye, but luckily we did not, though I reckon I'm going to have to purch 2 cans of dye (nooooo!!!) next time.
Whilst allowing it to ruminate on my head I watched Everything is Illuminated (finally!), and it was excellent, very B.A. Elijah Wood was excellent, as always, and the ever-dashing Eugene Hutz brought it in a big way! Now I have a hankering for a Ukrainian accent. If you are at all a fan of Elijah, Mr. Hutz, Ukraine, or good movies (or heck, even just Gogol Bordello) you should definitely see it!
I also read up on the Tokio Hotel concert in Tel Aviv, which, apparently, was super-awesome! Bill and Tom both wore red, TK wore his birthday shirt which was nifty. BK already rocks the re-wear all the time and always has, but this is a new thing for TK, which I could definitely get used to! It also looks like Bill got a bunch of the white cut out of his hair, which thrills me because I'm no so much a fan of it when there's too much of it. Boys' appearances aside, they played really well, songs in both English and German (I'm very proud of Bill, that he did not confuse the words), and the fans were very enthusiastic! The one shadow over it is that 8 teenage girls were injured when a glass barrier shattered, and I guess they weren't really prepared to deal with that. One girl with a broken hand ran back into the concert without getting treatment! Other than that, there were just the normal injuries that result from TH crazy fandom. Rad!
It was 11pm-ish by the time I got around to rinsing out my hair, so that meant it was VERY cold when I had to stand outside in the driveway and spray my head with the hose, and then pour vinegar and water over my head, because apparently that makes the colour stay longer. The truth in that is yet to be determined, but it did mean that I smelled like an Easter egg. When it was all rinsed out it looked pretty good! So my hair is now, officially Pillarbox Red. I hope to golly that it lasts more than a week.
You can see it in those pictures above...and don't even try to pretend that you aren't impressed by my gangsta face. Don't even try.
Red again,
Charlotte
Tokio Hotel got together to
Anyway, I'm getting off topic. To vote for the boys in the Band and Inter Act categories, simply click here, select the category, Tokio Hotel within that category, and click "vote"! It's that simple. I believe that it counts only one vote/category/country/computer/half hour, but if you have a few extra minutes at a time, feel free to change the country (drop-down menu, bottom right corner) and keep voting! [For easy clicking: Italy, Germany, France, Spain]
We can make Tokio Hotel win both these awards.

Gawd, I really ought to calm down....
It's really very lovely...I think that the layout (pictured above) is simply gorgeous, even though I've seen the picture a million times this is the best way it's been presented. The site has, as you can tell, news (though there isn't much yet!), tour dates (empty so far), media, a band bio, and a place to register. There is also a message board,
So please, go check it out!! Bookmark it! Sign up! Tell all your friends!
Also, don't forget to pick up a copy (if you haven't already, or even if you have!) of the EP at your local Hot Topic! If yours doesn't have one, Tokio Hotel Does America has come up with a solution. You can ask them to have another Hot Topic store send them one for you. It will be free of charge and only take a couple of days! Get enough of your friends to ask as well, and they may begin carrying it. I wish that I could do this...damn this rural existance!
Have you joined the eTeam yet? Um, why not?
I am still constantly freaking out about everything that's going on with TH and America...whenever I speak about it my voice gets all high and weird!!
Squeaking with glee,
Charlotte
Everything about the secret party from Bill and Tom…
It is really cold here! Minus five degrees - but the vibe in the Hamburger club is getting hot! Here is where the Tokio Hotel twins, Bill and Tom celebrate there 18th birthday. In a real ice bar - in the middle of the summer. Crazy! Two rooms have the boys reserved in luxurious ice-temple. One Casino- room with two playing tables where you can gamble away and on the other side the cool ice bar. "It was just awesome", Tom tells. "Right at 12 o'clock midnight we have put on our warm coats and went right towards our 18th birthday party".
On the guest list: Only the closest friends, the family and the producers team. They celebrated the secret party in style: Exotic drinks, Champagne, Thais buffet and on top a chocolate fountain (Bill: "Oh god, I just love this stuff!")
Extra for the party there has been a logo designed with three dices that together count the number 18. The big fun was going on at the Roulette table. "Gustav and Georg were really getting into it", Bill laughs, he has decided to wear a cool gold/black striped suit for the occasion. "They were having dollar makrs in there eyes, luckily we didn't play for real money!" Really cool suprises could be found at the gift table of the twins. "It is awesome to see what people have turned up with for you", Bill excitingly tells.
"I especially liked a sculpture that had two pieces. When you put the two together they form a body. It symbolises the connection between me and Tom", the singer explains.
Finally 18! No surprise the twins were getting loose. Alcohol-free?
Not tonight - that was already told by the twins. And who drank the most? Tom: "We were both a little hang over, but if there is a moment to drink a lot, why not your 18th birthday?!" he laughs.
And Bill? "I t really knocked me out when I went from the ice bar to the Casino room. I first drank a lot of alcohol there and wasn't really aware of it all until I went there, you really have to watch out with that!"
And something else can be concluded from this night: Bill and Tom are really Party-kings: when the twins left the IndoChine at 5:30 in the morning, it was already light.
"The party was everything we wanted it to be", Bill tells tired but happy. Then they are off to there next big task: Sleeping….
+ + +
Wow, sounds like some party, I'm sorry I missed it! I got my invitation, of course, but I had a conflicting event and unfortunately couldn't make it. The twins were absolutely devastated, obviously, to say nothing of how poor Gustav felt!
Check out the pictures from the party...the twins, of course, look super-hot in all of them (I love Bill's grin!), and Gusti looks amazing in his glasses. ::sigh::
Don't forget, of course, to join the eTeam and pick up your copy of the EP at Hot Topic!
Planning her own 18th,
Charlotte
THEY LOVE AND HATE EACH OTHER!
Exclusively in Yam!, the Kaulitz-twins tell about how bizarre their
fights among each other really are and why Gustav and Georg rather tuck
tail and run off in situations like that. furthermore, the 4 are
talking about their new single & their concert in Germany!
The fans are have been waiting for a sign of life from them and here
it is! The boys spontaneously invited the Yam to hamburg- and have been
showing themselves from a very different side. Bill, Tom, Gustav and
Georg talk about their plans- private and in their job!
Yam: Bill and Tom, you’re 18! what’s gonna change for you now?
Bill: we’re now not only
allowed to drink alcohol and drive cars but we generally got more
freedom now. until now, we’ve been working like grown-ups, earning
money and paying taxes but we were never allowed to sign any contracts.
hell, i wasn’t even allowed to sign my own mobile-phone contract…
Tom: We both have been
raised to be very independent and have been standing on our own two
feet for a long time but it’s something entirely different when you’re
allowed to decide for yourself for 100%. ever since i was 12 i’ve been
wanting to sue people whenever something pissed me off and now i could!
*laughs*
Yam: what’s gonna happen in the next months?
Gustav: we’re continuing
with touring through europe and we’re playing gigs in a number of
countries. we’re also gonna play a concert in germany, on november 4th
in essen. that’s gonna be the final concert of the “483-europe tour”
and on the 19th october, our new single “An deiner Seite (ich bin da)”
is gonna be released in germany.
Yam: what can you tell us about the german single-release?
Bill: besides “an deiner seite”, there’s gonna be a new, not yet released song on the single.
Tom: besides that,
there’s gonna be a couple of very intimate tour-moments on the single.
during the europe-tour, we had a camera team tagging along with us all
the time and now we got so much material that we can’t put everything
onto the DVD. that’s why we made two different documentaries- one for
the tour DVD and one for the single.
Georg: there’s some VERY funny moments on it…
Bill: true! you’re gonna
see us in all kinds of really different situations- like you’ve never
seen us before. for example while sleeping, freaking out and even me
without make-up.
Tom: it wasn’t about looking good in that docu- the fans are supposed to see us like we really are. it’s like a TH-diary.
Yam: can you tell us a particular scene?
Bill: well, there’s this one scene in which Tom and i are really fighting.
Tom: well, it’s not us
fighting but you totally freaking out. as usual, i kept my calm while
you’re totally losing it and scream at me. i think you even called me
“you sick f*ck” in front of everyone. (note: the literal translation would be “you sick pig” but it equals “sick f*ck”, actually)
Bill: *turns red* well, we love and hate each other.
Tom: i think right now i hate you more than i love you though… *both laugh*
Bill: when we were young,
we were fighting with each other on a daily basis, we even hit each
other with frying-pans once. we only ever stopped when one of us
started to cry for real. when we’re getting into a fight nowadays,
Georg and Gustav usually leave the room.
Georg: nobody can stand to watch the insanity you two are going to each other.
Gustav: *grins* and most of all, stop dragging us into it!
Bill: Tom drives me insane sometimes.
Tom: boy, you’re totally mad!
*Bill attempts to look like a mad-man for a second and both start laughing again*
((Translation thanks to Tokio Hotel America.))
Don't forget the eTeam and the EP!
Thinking Bill looks damn good in a track jacket,
Charlotte
The Official Tokio Hotel MySpace page finally put up a blog about all the birthdays that have been going down, and this is what it said:
WHATEVER!
On a completelyunrelated note? Is it weird to Google yourself? Ok, yeah, just checking.
I think I'm going to go find a nice, warm hole and crawl in it. Arrivaderci!!
Weird mood,
