Tokio Hotel Team!
We have wrapped up the FIRST part (I'm calling it the first part, you'll see why… just keep reading) of the Operation EP Sell Out contest – but we're not sold out yet. The goal to sell out every last copy of Tokio Hotel's first U.S. release has NOT been a failure – we just need a little more time! At last count we were almost half way to our goal – this means we've got a little over 1500 copies left to clear from the shelves. We can do this! This is a totally obtainable goal – and here's how we are going to get it done…
Your mission, should you choose to accept, is easy: Bomb the Web with Banners!

Put the banner (http://www.totalassault.com/htmlemail/tokiohotel/ep_banner.jpg) anywhere and everywhere --- your MySpace page, your Live Journal, your blog, your favorite message board, even your least favorite message board. The more places you put the more creds you'll earn to one SWEET prize (wait 'til you hear that part). Just remember to report your work on the team page http://totalassault.com/team.php?team_id=280
Your prize: ONE Grand Prize winner will get a PERSONALIZED hand-written thank you letter from the band!
Wow! I don't know about you, but I sure would love that prize!
Have you joined the eTeam yet? It's super-easy, free, and totally official. You don't have to fill in your real address (though you might want to, in case you win a prize!), but you'll get e-mails like this one with the latest projects and chances to help promote the band, and win amazing prizes, like this one! When you join — or if you already are a member, don't forget to to earn cred towards prizes, etc!
Back to the EP: It's been out since 11 September, exclusively at Hot Topic stores. Have you gotten your copy yet? Find your local store and check it out. You can call first, but keep in mind that a lot of stores don't even know that they have it until you wave it in their face.
If your local HT doesn't have it, or you've already bought them out, you can still do more! Either have your store transfer more in (that's like them ordering more copies from another store), or you can call use Tokio Hotel Does America's plan, and call up out-of-area stores to purchase over the phone. (Note that this requires a credit card.)
My local didn't have the EP, but I had a friend send me a few copies, then when I went to LA I stopped in at the Hot Topic there (at Hollywood & Highland) and bought them out. They're having more transfered in, so if you're in the area, check them out!
Remember, the more EPs we sell, the more buzz we build, the more TH will want to come to America! If you end up with heaps of EPs, don't just sit on them, find other fans that can't get them and send them out! Give them to your friends who have heard you talk for ages about TH but have never heard the music! Pass them out on street corners, or leave a stack of them in the Hot Topic (or anywhere else — with permission) with a sign that says "Free CDs!" Anything to get the word out.
And, of course, cover the internet with the banner! Don't forget to turn in your reports to the eTeam!
Part Two of how you can Support TH:
VOTING!!!
Tokio Hotel has been nominated (thanks to fans' votes) in two categories of MTV's European Music Awards! They'd love to win (of course), and we'd love for them to win. The smile on Bill's face win the band wins an award would outshine the sun, I'm not even kidding you. The boys have been incredibly lovely to us to encourage us to vote, and have handwritten letters to their fans in four languages! Click the links for English, Deutsch, Français and Italian!
It's super-easy to vote, and the boys are up against such huge bands as Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy, so we really need to come out and show our support. Following are instructions on how to vote! vote! vote!
How to vote for TOKIO HOTEL in the EMAs [European Music Awards]:
The boys are nominated in two categories: "Band" and "Inter Act."
You can vote 10 times/category/country/day, so, to make things really easy, just click each of the following links, and click the "Vote" button 10 times, until it tells you that you've voted the maximum number of times!
Note: Even in the non-English sites, the "Vote" button is the same big red one, and when you have voted 10 times the bar that comes up will be red as well.
Links! ((The "1" links are for the "Band Category", the "2" for "Inter Act"))
Netherlands 1 :: France 1 :: Denmark 1 :: Baltics 1 :: Finland 1 :: Germany 1 :: Italy 1 :: Norway 1 :: Poland 1 :: Portugal 1 :: Romania 1 :: Spain 1 :: Sweden 1 :: Turkey 1 :: UK&Ireland 1 :: Rest of the World :: Africa 2 :: Adria 2 :: Netherlands 2 :: France 2 :: Denmark 2 :: Baltics 2 :: Finland 2 :: Germany 2 :: Italy 2 :: Norway 2 :: Poland 2 :: Portugal 2 :: Romania 2 :: Spain 2 :: Sweden 2 :: Turkey 2
>> Extra bonus fun: If you've voted 10x for each of those countries and still would like to do more, click the links below [they have slightly modified addresses, with "www" added or removed] and you can vote 10 times more for each!
Africa 1 :: Adria 1 :: Netherlands 1 :: France 1 :: Denmark 1 :: Baltics 1 :: Finland 1 :: Germany 1 :: Italy 1 :: Norway 1 :: Poland 1 :: Portugal 1 :: Romania 1 :: Spain 1 :: Sweden 1 :: Turkey 1 :: UK&Ireland 1 :: Rest of the World :: Africa 2 :: Adria 2 :: Netherlands 2 :: France 2 :: Denmark 2 :: Baltics 2 :: Finland 2 :: Germany 2 :: Italy 2 :: Norway 2 :: Poland 2 :: Portugal 2 :: Romania 2 :: Spain 2 :: Sweden 2 :: Turkey 2
((If any of the links are broken, let me know!!))
Tokio Hotel work really hard and are super-dedicated to their fans. It's the least that we can do to help bring that back and show them that we appreciate all they do, and that we love them, too!

Charlotte
Julia got her permit last week, which was completely amazing and I am super-proud (and jealous) of her. I waited outside in the frigid morning to snap this pic of her driving to school for the first time ever (I'm taking the bus on days she drives until she has a tad more experience) and it was totally worth it. They're all laughing because I was totally darting around all paparazzi-like, which was fun, but as I mentioned, rather chilly.
When I got my EPs I obviously had to give one to my dearest Hanna, and she took a break from her AP Calc homework (no great sacrifice) to open it with the appropriate ceremony and excitement. I had yet to open my own so it was a rather thrilling experience for the both of us. Julia, needless to say, was less-than impressed, but what can you expect from newly-driving younger sisters?
I am continuously extolling the virtues of Fred Flare's marvy sunglasses, and this is no different. My most commonly sported pair at this time is their Risky Business shades, which I purchased this summer and have loved ever since. For the past few days they have become entertainment fodder on the bus rides home, and Christina, Spencer and Aubrey look quite neat in them, don'tcha think?
On Wednesday Hanna and I went up to our old Elementary school on Back To School Night to assist with the Book Fair, which was actually really fun! Though it was rather strange to see all these kids who we had gone to school with all grown up; some of them with kids of their own in school. Of course, I entered Kindergarten a good...13 (?) years ago, so kids who were in 8th grade then are now in their mid-twenties. Holy cannoli that is strange to think about.
Whilst browsing the shelves (of both the library and the sale) I encountered many a book that figured prominently in my childhood, including these: (click'em for details)
There were also a few books that I found that I would have liked to purchase, but did not have the necessary funds avaliable. In retrospect this was a good thing, as my budget could not stand to be stretched this far.
Hanna and I were both given $5 gift certificates as a reward for our hard work and considered pooling them to purchase Song of the Sparrow but reconsidered when we discovered that it was completely written in poetry. Poetry's good and all, but not when it's a novel.
We ended up with the Beatles poster (H) and the Spider-Man comic (me) in the picture. I was tempted to purchase the poster as well, but I already have too many posters for my wall space. And dude, I cannot even begin to resist Spider-Man.
Hope you enjoyed my week in pictures!
Love always,
Charlie
It's really happening. I know I keep saying that...I know that you must be thinking "ja, eNOUGH already, we realise that you're excited, blah blah blah" but you don't understand. Probably. And if you do...then you know exactly what kind of strangled squealing noises issued forth from my mouth after I opened the padded envelope and held them in my hands. And why my heartbeat hasn't quite slowed down. And why I still haven't opened them because I can't bear to. Wow.
I'm not going to keep both of them, one is going to go to my beloved Hanna (with whom I had a total K-twins drool session with today- love ya, kid!). But one will still be mine. And I think I may have another one in the mail to me, so that I can have one open to play and gaze at, and another to just...have.
I'm also going to submit the above picture (unfortunately I couldn't get a good one with all four boys...stupid poster is uncooperative...GUSTI I LOVE YOU) to the Official eTeam in the hopes of winning this tshirt:
I'm starting to get lightheaded from not breathing.
Gazing at them lovingly,
Charlotte
P.S. I'm kind of sad that when they're all sold out I won't be able to use this banner anymore, as I am exceedingly proud of how it turned out.
Hallo Tokio Hotel teamers!
We are about to see something HUGE --- Tokio Hotel is invading the U.S. and it is all starting with the release of the EP at Hot Topic! Only 3,000 copies of this exist which makes it super limited. For those of you who don't know the EP has two songs, "Scream" and "Ready, Set, Go" and is only available at Hot Topic … oh yeah, and it's only 99 cents!
So the mission… Operation Sell Out!
How cool would it be if the FIRST CD Tokio Hotel released in the U.S. sold out in the first month? This would be HUGE!!
Here's what to do: take a picture of YOU with YOUR copy or copies of the EP and send them in!
And, of course, the reward: we've got MERCH to give out so everyone who sends in a picture will be entered and then we'll pick 20 people to send a Tokio Hotel shirt to!
Let's get Tokio Hotel on the map, in the news and in the U.S!!
Also, make sure to check out the NEW official Tokio Hotel website www.tokiohotel-us.com

xoxo,
Charlotte
It's really very lovely...I think that the layout (pictured above) is simply gorgeous, even though I've seen the picture a million times this is the best way it's been presented. The site has, as you can tell, news (though there isn't much yet!), tour dates (empty so far), media, a band bio, and a place to register. There is also a message board,
So please, go check it out!! Bookmark it! Sign up! Tell all your friends!
Also, don't forget to pick up a copy (if you haven't already, or even if you have!) of the EP at your local Hot Topic! If yours doesn't have one, Tokio Hotel Does America has come up with a solution. You can ask them to have another Hot Topic store send them one for you. It will be free of charge and only take a couple of days! Get enough of your friends to ask as well, and they may begin carrying it. I wish that I could do this...damn this rural existance!
Have you joined the eTeam yet? Um, why not?
I am still constantly freaking out about everything that's going on with TH and America...whenever I speak about it my voice gets all high and weird!!
Squeaking with glee,
Charlotte
THEY LOVE AND HATE EACH OTHER!
Exclusively in Yam!, the Kaulitz-twins tell about how bizarre their
fights among each other really are and why Gustav and Georg rather tuck
tail and run off in situations like that. furthermore, the 4 are
talking about their new single & their concert in Germany!
The fans are have been waiting for a sign of life from them and here
it is! The boys spontaneously invited the Yam to hamburg- and have been
showing themselves from a very different side. Bill, Tom, Gustav and
Georg talk about their plans- private and in their job!
Yam: Bill and Tom, you’re 18! what’s gonna change for you now?
Bill: we’re now not only
allowed to drink alcohol and drive cars but we generally got more
freedom now. until now, we’ve been working like grown-ups, earning
money and paying taxes but we were never allowed to sign any contracts.
hell, i wasn’t even allowed to sign my own mobile-phone contract…
Tom: We both have been
raised to be very independent and have been standing on our own two
feet for a long time but it’s something entirely different when you’re
allowed to decide for yourself for 100%. ever since i was 12 i’ve been
wanting to sue people whenever something pissed me off and now i could!
*laughs*
Yam: what’s gonna happen in the next months?
Gustav: we’re continuing
with touring through europe and we’re playing gigs in a number of
countries. we’re also gonna play a concert in germany, on november 4th
in essen. that’s gonna be the final concert of the “483-europe tour”
and on the 19th october, our new single “An deiner Seite (ich bin da)”
is gonna be released in germany.
Yam: what can you tell us about the german single-release?
Bill: besides “an deiner seite”, there’s gonna be a new, not yet released song on the single.
Tom: besides that,
there’s gonna be a couple of very intimate tour-moments on the single.
during the europe-tour, we had a camera team tagging along with us all
the time and now we got so much material that we can’t put everything
onto the DVD. that’s why we made two different documentaries- one for
the tour DVD and one for the single.
Georg: there’s some VERY funny moments on it…
Bill: true! you’re gonna
see us in all kinds of really different situations- like you’ve never
seen us before. for example while sleeping, freaking out and even me
without make-up.
Tom: it wasn’t about looking good in that docu- the fans are supposed to see us like we really are. it’s like a TH-diary.
Yam: can you tell us a particular scene?
Bill: well, there’s this one scene in which Tom and i are really fighting.
Tom: well, it’s not us
fighting but you totally freaking out. as usual, i kept my calm while
you’re totally losing it and scream at me. i think you even called me
“you sick f*ck” in front of everyone. (note: the literal translation would be “you sick pig” but it equals “sick f*ck”, actually)
Bill: *turns red* well, we love and hate each other.
Tom: i think right now i hate you more than i love you though… *both laugh*
Bill: when we were young,
we were fighting with each other on a daily basis, we even hit each
other with frying-pans once. we only ever stopped when one of us
started to cry for real. when we’re getting into a fight nowadays,
Georg and Gustav usually leave the room.
Georg: nobody can stand to watch the insanity you two are going to each other.
Gustav: *grins* and most of all, stop dragging us into it!
Bill: Tom drives me insane sometimes.
Tom: boy, you’re totally mad!
*Bill attempts to look like a mad-man for a second and both start laughing again*
((Translation thanks to Tokio Hotel America.))
Don't forget the eTeam and the EP!
Thinking Bill looks damn good in a track jacket,
Charlotte
