#1 Reason to Screen One's Calls:
It might be Jack Nicholson. Or a recording, which, IMO, is just as frightening.
Yes, I am terrified of Jack Nicholson. This does not stem from anything in particular. I found the Shining particularly not-terrifying (in fact, I found J. Nicholson much more hair-raising in Five Easy Pieces)...it's more of just a deeply rooted feeling of abject terror. Some people are scared of spiders or flying, I'm scared of Jack Nicholson.
This evening, when we returned home from watching Like Water For Chocolate at the Film Club there was this (::points to audio box thingie::) message on our machine of Jack Nicholson telling us to vote for Hillary Clinton in Super Tuesday tomorrow. Um, no? I was already planning on not voting for Hillz (sorry, lady, but OBAMA's got my vote), but, golly, this just cemented that even more.
I am very excited about voting! As I'm sure you've gathered by now, this will be my first time, and gosh, it's thrilling! I've only been waiting for this my entire life. Hanna and I are going to vote early early tomorrow morning, which means several things! (a) I need to get up sehr early. (b) I am going to be driven to school by Hanna's lil' sis Julia, for the first time, which will be fun. And (c) I will probably vote before my big brother, even though he is on East Coast time! Which is filled with hilarity and awesome, because, not only did he have to experience the injustice of not being able to vote in a presidential election before me (he is three years older), but I will actually cast the first vote. Ha!
What else, what else, what else...not much else is going on. I got all my college applications (NYU, BU, Emerson, SCAD) in! Yay! Hanna and I are planning a trip to Fort Bragg on the 16th for movies and a zoopear secret activity since we are not going to be going to the Tokio Hotel show, so that will be fun. (I am just going to smile and pretend that I do not feel like stabbing something.)
Oh, speaking of Tokio Hotel shows (yes, I know I am crazyrepetitive)... ATTENTION ALL NYC-area-TYPES! Tokio Hotel are going to be playing The Fillmore NY at Irving Plaza (site) on January 19th! The first show (on the 18th) sold out in hours but there are tickets still available for this one!
Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 at the door (if there are any left), you can purchase them at Ticketmaster. Doors are at 6:30.
This is the last of the only 3 shows that TH is playing in the US, and 5 on the continent. These shows are going to go down in history, because TH are the new Beatles and they are going to be huge. Not only will it just be an all-around awesome show (good music and super performance skills), but you'll be able to say "yeah, I saw them back before they were known here...one of their first US shows." It'll be something to tell the grandkids about! And, if you're into it, there's a contest to win tickets and a meet & greet with the band (for both the NYC shows and the 15th Feb show at the Roxy in LA), all you have to do is post up the poster (on the right). Click here for more info on that.
Sorry if it seems I went a bit overboard on that, but (a) I tend do to that with TH, and (b) it kills me that Hanna and I are not going to be able to see any of these shows...kills me...so I am overcompensating. And I really want this second NY show to sell out, as the other four concerts already have. And I'd love to get more people to check out the band! So....
Gosh, sorry for the no post/huge post thing I've got going on! That must be annoying. Well, I have some positions on Indian Gaming Propositions to form before tomorrow morning, so I'm going to bounce-diggity for now!

P.S. About that...::points up:: I have been listening to lots of Deutsche Hip Hop lately. More on that later.
