So, I was thinking about it, and I think I do things kind of backwards. Not all things, mind you, I put my pants on the right way and walk the way my feet point, but some things... for example. Do you ever get in those moods where you feel like you can take on the world? All "Rrrawr, I'm awesome!" and shizzle? Well, I do. Problem is, they usually come on at 9 pm or later, which leaves me all gung-ho and super psyched to...sit on my dang couch. Sometimes it makes me really productive and I can crank out some homework, but usually it just means that I put on red lipstick and sit around in my pajamas feeling badass. The obnoxious thing is that these moods hardly ever carry over to the morning. You'd think that, in the morning, one would wake up more ready than ever to go get 'em, and then by the end of the day be worn down and less like that. Only I wake up, think "oh crap another day" and then by the evening am all "Whee! Super duper!" Gosh, I weird.
Actual conversation that happened today:
Lotte: "Hey mom! Guess who's playing in New York in October? That's not Tokio Hotel?"
Mom: "Um... I don't know."
Lotte: "MADONNA!"
Mom: "Is that supposed to be something exciting?"
Lotte: "Uh, DUH."
Mom: "But she's old!"
Lotte: "Look who's talking."
Seriously, when did being old stop people from rocking? At least Madonna still looks good. Unlike, oh, I don't know, any member of the Rolling Stones.
I started this hours ago but now I am sleepy, so good night!

Lately I have been cultivating a somewhat unhealthy obsession with the Flobots. Namely their song "Handlebars." If you haven't heard it, get your hiney to the nearest audio-listening outlet and give it a whirl. It is seriously catchy and excellent. And, um, it talks about splitting molecules. And comic books. And all the other things that make life worth living.
Other than that it's been pretty much schuleTag 24/7 for me. Either I am working on something or I should be working on something, it's completely bonkers. And tomorrow I have an AP English exam! For three hours! In the morning! I'm sure you can smell my excitement from here.
One highlight: My BestBuy edition of Scream came today! It is sexy sexy and has a genius DVD that causes dangerously large grins in its viewers. Well, the ones named Charlotte, anyway.
Oh, and TH on TRL yesterday? "Were met with more hysteria than Elvis and John Lennon, had they both risen from the dead and played a spontaneous acoustic set with Jesus." (MTV Buzzworthy) Haha! It is kind of freaky how much I love MTV now.
Aiight kidderoos I'm out.
xoxo

But just in case you didn't? (For shame). Or if you want another copy or to give one as a gift? Well, it's your lucky day. TeenReads.com is having an ALFA book giveaway! All you need to do is head over to the contest page, fill in your infos (just your name, email, and address), and you could win one of the five copies of the book that they are giving away!
It takes 2 seconds and you could win, as noted above, one of the best books ever! So why not enter? And if you don't trust my judgment about the qualitay of ALFA (which would be dumb of you, but whatever) check out TeenReads.com's review of the novel.
Dooo eeeet, snickerdoodle!

Before I get on to the actual bit of the post, allow me a brief laughing fit.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Why this sudden burst of hilarity? Dearest darlingest Tom wore a Red Sox hat in NYC. He did so well coordinating his LA/NY hats during the February club tour I expected the same this time (he wore a non-team hat Saturday in New Jersey), but...apparently wee Tomlet is not quite so hip as I had assumed. Not that I'm raggin on him for wearing a Sox hat, as a future Bostonian, I must say Rock On, dude.
Anyway. As you know, I finished teh zine, so...
Today I saw Persepolis at the movies! It was actually really, really good. I highly enjoyed it, and recommend that you see it. I think that it's out on DVD now. That also means that I dropped mad $$$s on movie snacks and was stuffed until now, when I just ate a box of macaroni and cheese. Now I feel ill. Yay!
I am also mildly frustrated by the fact that the Tennessee Williams anthology that I got from the library does not include "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" which is the one damn play I need to read, and also that my download of Scream (released tomorrow) is available but I am on dial up and so I cannot get it. But I will tomorrow and also tomorrow maybe my CDs will get here and the mail will go out and TH will be on TRL.
Now before it is tomorrow I have heaps of homework to do...though I am nonsensically tired and would much rather sleep for an hour or two and then do it...
Liebe,
Lotte
Today was amazing. This entry is most likely going to be short and possibly nonsensical, because, yeah, I'm exhausted and it was just so grandiose I don't reckon I can put it into words just yet.
As you may have gathered, today I went to the Roma Festival in Sebastopol with Hanna. It was super fun and I got to see EUGENE FREAKIN' HUTZ (aka the frontman to the most excellent Gogol Bordello). See that photo? Up there? That was taken after his group's set...when he was only kinda drunk, before he was really drunk, canoodling with young-looking ladies, and hitting the stage again to take part in the most crazyawesome song/experience ever.
OK, yeah, I was right (see above, second paragraph). I am way too exhausted to write about it. But dang, it was amazing.
As you might recall today was also Bill's first performance post-OP (I set my watch alarm for when they hit the stage, and couldn't stop grinning for their whole 20 minute set)...and I'm actually kind of dreading finding out how it went. If it didn't go well, I'll be devastated, and if it went well, I will of course be freak-freak-freakin' out with glee. Either way involves energy and I've hardly got extra of that. But I won't be able to sleep if I don't check it, so here I go...
Dead tired and lovingly yours,
Lotte
I want to get another tattoo.
::sigh::
The last time that Tokio Hotel came to America and I couldn't go, I got one. It only follows that I'd do it again, right?
::sigh again::
I do want to get another one before I go to college, though.
Bwuahahahahaha.
Yeah.
Lovingly yours,
Lotte
Tomorrow I'm going to a Roma Festival with Hanna and I'm going to get to see Eugene Hutz live and in person! Golly, I am so stoked on that.
I finally got my dang zine finished! I failed so hard at photocopying it right, but now I have exactly 4 copies that I just need to fold'n'staple. I'm obviously going to make more copies than that, just I haven't yet.
Tomorrow is Bill's first performance post-OP! The boys are playing some songs at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey! And then...oh, my teeth are chattering with excitment.
I got an email from Best Buy saying my CD was shipped! I doubt it will get here by the 6th, but a girl can hope, right?
Oh, and my absolutely favourite boys? Are featured on the website of my absolutely favourite magazine! That's right, check out Tokio Hotel now on Seventeen.com! Crazy, inorite?
I also made some nommy nommy chocolate cupcakes (with rainbow chip frosting) for the school bake sale tomorrow. They are snazzy!
Can't really think of anything else of interest, except I painted my nails orange the other day but the polish is chipping like woah so I need to do something about that.
HEY GUESS WHAT?
I love you.
xoxo,
Charlotte
Facebook chat is kind of actually pretty cool! Except when I'm loading a video on YouTube and the chat la-la-lags like whoa. Considering the fact that I hide pretty much all the time from AIM/MSN/etc it's interesting to actually chatify with peeps.
GAH I was going to write something and completely forgot it. ::sigh:: Oh yes! I remember now! Tokio Hotel (and their oh-so-beloved crew) are in the United States right now. I know, I'm like freaking out. They are playing the Bamboozle festival in NJ on Saturday (Bill's first performance since his surgery), then they have appearances and concerts lined up in North America until...the 18th, I think. There go three weeks of my life down the drain, as I'm obviously not going to be able to concentrate in the least bit.
In other news, Siobhan turned in her first draft of her second novel today! Yay! You should run over to her LiveJournal and congratulate her because that is awesome.
Goodness, I am trying to find pictures of my hair (blonde, pink, red, and now) to send to my sister and DANG it is hard! I don't keep a lot of photos on my laptop harddrive (they take up precious space that I need for music) and so I was looking through my PhotoBooth pics, but there are surprisingly few (surprisingly because I'm pushing 1600) that really show it. ::sigh:: So now I am digging through my 80 000 Vox photos. The downside of all this is now I'm dying for pink hair again and I don't know if my poor hair can handle it.
((I wrote this post yesterday and Flock crashed before I could post it so I'm posting it now without editing 'cause I don't feel like dealing with it.))
Lots and lots of liebe,
Lotte
I did decide on a college– Emerson are the lucky ones who will be graced with my presence come August. I have to say, it was rather heartbreaking to send off a note to NYU saying that I wouldn't be attending. ::sigh:: Let it go, Charlotte, let it go.
What else? I've become a total Miley Cyrus fan, to the chagrin of pretty much everyone I know. What can I say? She is just so amazing. (And I am ignoring Hannah Montana and all that, I haven't gone completely bonkers).
I have also been working on the 2nd issue of my zine, which is almost finished (that is what the above photo of Hanna & I is for, sunglasses + mustaches by FredFlare.com), writing essays, doin' all that jazz. Boring stuff, you know.
Now I am just dying of tiredness and I'm going to work at my dad's office tomorrow (State testing = days off for seniors), so I reckon I'll skedaddle now... hopefully I'll see you soon!
Liebe,
Lotte
LadyTru tagged me, so here I go.
The rules:
- Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
- At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment on their blog and tell them they’ve been tagged, and to come back and read your blog for the whole story.
I always have such trouble with these.
1. I have a tattoo.
2. My PM box is 98% full.
3. I chew my nails
4. I'm kind of freakishly addicted to Galbanino.
5. I can speak Italian...though super-imperfectly.
6. The 6 key on my laptop doesn't work very well.
7. My natural hair colour is brown.
8. I graduate from High School in June.
Sorry, those were boring. I honestly suck at filling these things out.
And I can't think of anyone to Tag. Failure, thy name ist Charlotte. ::hangs head::
good idea. her other possible name is "jumbie." i'm considering kidnapping all her children and naming them myself. read more
